Richard is the founding owner and managing director of CS Legal. Originally from England, Richard pursued a career in banking and international currency trading after completing his law degree at the University of Coventry.
After 9 years at Midland Montague Bank and Fuji Bank International, Richard moved to Perth with his Australian wife and gained admission to practice in Western Australia.
Starting off at Minter Ellison, Richard decided on a change of path and ventured into the property conveyancing field. He became a director of a company known as Conveyancing Services WA Pty Ltd, a property settlement business.
Realising that there was a significant market for legal services associated with property settlements he converted the settlement agency into a law firm known as Conveyancing Service Legal.
From 2003 onwards and with Narinder now on board as part of the team, Richard marketed the firm’s capabilities in providing legal services in contractual disputes and personal legal services such as wills and probate.
Since then the firm has not only carved a niche for itself as a specialist in the property conveyancing industry, it has also expanded its service capabilities exponentially.
Richard’s role sees him constantly “on the road” reinforcing existing client relationships and creating new ones in his characteristic informal and friendly manner. He is always happy to take calls even on weekends.
As the managing partner, Richard takes a lead role in the day to day management of the staff and the financial and administrative affairs of the firm.
With his strong commercial outlook and financial ability, Richard also provides invaluable advice on commercial aspects of various matters undertaken by the firm.
